Exmouth Museum will be closed next week for the exterior to be painted.

It will shut from Monday 9 May, and reopen the following week on Monday 16 May.

The museum reopened last month and now features a variety of new exhibits, as well as existing pieces including a recreation of a 1940s parlour with an original fireplace from an Exmouth house, a Bronze Age sword found on Pole Sands, and historic photographs.

A spokesperson said: "Exmouth Museum will be closed for all next week from 9 May while the outside is being painted.

"We will look forward to welcoming you back to the fabulous newly painted museum on Monday 16 May."

You can find the museum on Sheppard's Row near the Magnolia Centre in Exmouth. Entry is free for children and students and £2.50 for adults, and it expects to remain open until the end of October before closing for the winter.
