Plans for residents' parking schemes in parts of Exmouth have been approved by Devon County Council.

A consultation held in August received over 1,300 responses from around 1,000 addresses in the town.

Places to get residents' parking schemes are the Colonies area (54 per cent in favour), the St Andrews Road area (64 per cent in favour), and the central Albion Hill area*.

The Withycombe Road area will not have a permit scheme, as 77 per cent of respondents were not in favour, but will instead get a 'no waiting at any time' designation.

Similarly, Southern Road and the junction with Carter Avenue will get no waiting at any time and also limited waiting (without the permit exemption) designations.

The restrictions will be reviewed by Devon County Council in December 2023.

*Excluding Ryll Grove, Ryll Close, Marpool Hill, Albion Hill, Westward Drive, Gussiford Lane, Raleigh Road, Hartley Road, Rolle Road and the southern end of South Street, due to lack favourable responses.
