At 10:45 today Monday 29 July 2019, Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat George Bearman II was tasked to attend the beach by Orcombe Point, Exmouth following a report of a woman with a dislocated hip on the waters edge with an incoming tide.

The volunteer crew, led by Helm Harry Griffin, James Searle and Andy Stott, assisted the lady who had slipped while rock pooling. They gave casualty care and administered painkillers.

The crew were assisted by the Coastguard Rescue Team and Ambulance, who conveyed the injured person to hospital for further treatment.

The Lifeboat left the scene at 11:19 and the boat and volunteer crew were back on service at Exmouth Lifeboat Station at 11:30.
