It was a busy weekend for the Exmouth RNLI, with the inshore lifeboat called to two separate incidents.

Exmouth Inshore Lifeboat George Bearman II was launched on Friday, July 26, after a report from the Devon and Cornwall Police and Coastguard of a missing vulnerable man.

The lifeboat, led by volunteer Helm Henry Mock and crew, Roger Moore and Steve Satchel, was launched at 9.26pm and immediately commenced a full search of the River Exe shoreline using hand held torches and thermal imaging equipment.

Nothing was found following an extensive sweep of the area and the search concluded at 1am on Saturday, July 27, when the lifeboat returned to station.

The man, who had been missing from Starcross for nearly 24 hours, was described as white, 30 years of age, black hair sometimes styled in a ponytail, wearing a black Adidas T shirt.

On Saturday, July 27, Exmouth's Inshore Lifeboat, George Bearman II, launched at 2.10pm after a report from Solent Coastguard of a two year old child having breathing difficulties on the beach at Dawlish Warren.

The lifeboat, crewed by Helm, Henry Mock and crew volunteers, Sarah Beresford and Tim Barnes, attended the scene immediately to assess the situation and administer medical care if needed.

On their arrival it was established that the child had fully recovered and no further action was required.

The crew left the scene at 2.40pm and the Inshore Lifeboat was back on station at 2.50pm.
