Exmouth RNLI lifeboat blessing to see Red Arrows flypast

A service to bless Exmouth RNLI's lifeboats is set to take place on Wednesday 10 August this week at the lifeboat station on Queen's Drive.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, AKA the Red Arrows, will also fly past at 6.33pm to mark the occasion on their way from Falmouth to Exeter.

Exmouth RNLI's two lifeboats will be blessed in a service to which all are welcome, led by Rev. Steve Jones.

The Exmouth Shanty Men and the Budleigh Male Voice Choir will also be present singing on the beach.

Order of service

The timings for the event are as follows:

  • 5-5.45pm All gather at boathouse
  • 5.45-6pm Move to slipway/beach
  • 6-6.05pm Lifeboats moved onto slipway
  • 6.05-6.15pm Exmouth Shanty Men / Budleigh Male Voice Choir sing on the beach
  • 6.15pm Lifeboats moved to waters edge
  • 6.20-6.30pm Blessing by Rev. Steve Jones as boats are launched
  • 6.30pm Lifeboats positioned off the beach/ boathouse
  • 6.33pm Red Arrows flypast
  • 6.40pm Exmouth Shanty Men / Budleigh Male Voice Choir sing on the beach
  • 6.50pm All non-crew return to boathouse
  • 6.50-7.00pm End of service
  • 7:45-8:15pm After training exercise crew will recover lifeboats to the boathouse.
