Exmouth's stunning seafront display of flowers has been praised by a national Britain in Bloom judge.

Volunteers at Exmouth in Bloom (EIB) work all year around to make the town beautiful.

The Union Jack flag display on the seafront was featured and praised in the Britain in Bloom – South West newsletter and was praised by national judge Jon Wheatley.

The bed has continued to thrive and give pleasure to everyone visiting the sea front since June. It is still looking lovely even now.

Most recently volunteers they worked their magic on the Dinosaur paddocks.

Since August, EIB have been maintaining the beds and treating the grass in the paddocks, so that it was ready for the plants from the roundabout to be re-homed.

They spent more than three hours digging and planting, in several showers of rain, but were thrilled to see everything come together and are very pleased to share the result with the town.

Marion Drew, vice chair of Exmouth in Bloom, said: "The whole idea was to surround it with plants so people aren't as tempted to climb on the dinosaurs and so they didn't look like they have been dropped from space.

"All the plants have been moved from the roundabout outside The Powder Monkey and it has worked out really well, we are really pleased with it.

"We have never been in a magazine like this before so it was quite a surprise but we were so pleased.

"We don't get any money, so praise is how we get paid and it is so worth it. We get so many lovely comments from people walking past and online saying the town wouldn't be the same without us.

"It gets us out in the fresh air and it so lovely and good for our mental wellbeing."
