In order to raise the money necessary to secure a licence to hold events on Exmouth Beach Exmouth's Tri-Hards are putting on a 'grand cake sale' tomorrow (February 29).

The event, taking place at Ocean, Queens Drive, should help the Exmouth fitness group raise the £150 it needs to secure a licence and bring more events to the town's beach.

Tri-Hards founder Shelly Stammers said: "The Tri-Hards Gents Exmouth and Tri-hards Ladies Exmouth are hoping to purchase a licence to host events on Exmouth Beach. We want to introduce things like bootcamps and yoga plus much, much more!

"An application has been made to EDDC. The licence costs £150 and we have been very fortunate to receive two donations already and the money raised with our grand cake sale will help us with the rest.

"Of course, any surplus money will go to Hospice UK, in Exmouth and Lympstone."

The day starts with the Exmouth Parkrun 5K which the Tri-Hards new 5K course runners will be entering after completing their 5k course.

The cake sale and coffee morning will start at 10am and keen bakers looking to sell their cakes for a good cause are encouraged to bring their culinary delights to Ocean for around 8.45am to help the team set up.

Exmouth Tri-Hards' run leaders will be on hand throughout the event to answer any questions you may have.
