Where you'll work
Fernihurst is located in Exmouth, Devon and provides care for up to 50 residents who have complex nursing needs and residents who live with dementia. Fernihurst features a Namaste room which is a calm and tranquil retreat that promotes relaxation. Music therapy is also something our residents love and we are often joined by a lady from Singing for the Brain, an Alzheimer's Society initiative which brings joy to people living with dementia. In the main garden, which is completely enclosed, we have wheelchair friendly pathways, as well as special sensory features for our residents living with dementia. When you walk past certain points in this garden the sounds of relaxing ocean waves and animal noises play through special sensors. This garden also has a water feature and a giant canopy which looks like the sails of a ship.

Carer - Exmouth
We are currently on the look out for new team members at a stunning family run care home in the heart of the beautiful seaside community of Exmouth.
Consistently great reviews from residents and family members ensure that this particular business has been operating to the highest standards for the past 25 years and joining the team here is really like becoming part of their family.
We would expect a minimum qualification of NVQ level 2 or above and ideally a minimum of 2 years experience, though a full induction process will be provided for successful applicants joining the team.
Delivering an exceptional standard of patient care is a must and other duties and responsibilities within this role include
-Assisting individuals with their specific needs and demands within the care home environment
-Helping with training and developing new members of the team as well as helping existing colleagues-Accountable for residents personal hygiene, assisting with getting them dressed and delivering required medications at the correct dosage and time
-Dealing with the district Dr's and Staff nurses also including emergency paramedics that needed to attend the home-Leasing with family members and answering all questions regarding their loved one
Ultimately the success of this care home has been down to building a respected and trusted relationship with all of the residents and it is this aspect of the successful candidates attitude which will be vital.
