Homeowners in Exmouth are being warned about a door to door driveway resurfacing scam after a number of incidents in the town.

Exmouth PCSO Colin Balch said: "Police would like to make all home owners aware that there have been reports of men calling door to door offering to resurface driveways.

"The vehicle that they are using is a grey coloured Mitsubishi Trojan pickup.

"The men offer to do work for what can be thought of as a reasonable price but either try to charge more after doing some of the work or ask for money up front and then drive off without making a start."

Homeowners are advised not to accept offers to carry out work.
