More than 10% of adults in Devon and Cornwall have had second vaccine dose
More than one in ten adults across Devon and Cornwall have now had both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
The statistics, which provide the position as of April 4, show that there have been 1,115,085 vaccines delivered in the two counties, with 963,530 of them being the first dose.
In Devon, 652,345 people have had their first dose, with 100,258 of them having had a second dose, while in Cornwall, 311,185 people have had their first dose, with 51,297 a second dose.
It means that in Devon, 65.2 per cent of adults have had at least vaccine dose, with 10 per cent of adults having had a second dose, while in Cornwall, 67.1 per cent of adults have had one dose, with 11.1 per cent having had their second dose as well. These figures will have risen in the most recent days as it shows the position as of Sunday.
The latest week saw the highest number of second doses ever administered in a seven day period, although the number of first doses fell to its lowest level since the rollout began.
In Devon, take-up in every age group other than the 65-69s and the 50-54s is above 95 per cent, with the every age group hitting at least the 90 per cent figure.
In East Devon, South Hams, Torbay, Teignbridge, Torridge and West Devon, more than 70 per cent of adults have had at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine.
Of the adult population, 67.1 per cent in Cornwall, 72.4 per cent in East Devon, 52.6 per cent in Exeter, 81.8 per cent in the Isles of Scilly, 67.9 per cent in Mid Devon, 69.8 per cent in North Devon, 61.1 per cent in Plymouth, 70.6 per cent in South Hams, 71.2 per cent in Teignbridge, 70.6 per cent in Torbay, 71.3 per cent in Torridge, and 72.2 per cent in West Devon, have had one dose. These figures are as of April 4 and so will have risen in recent days.
