New film festival set to launch in Exmouth

A new independent film festival is set to launch in Exmouth next month.
The not-for-profit, volunteer-led event will take place from 24 to 30 November, with eight screenings across multiple accessible venues.
Festival programme
- Gala event with screening of short films made by local youngsters. Friday 24 November from 7pm to 9pm at Ocean. £5.
- Frozen (2019) sing-along version. Saturday 25 November from 11am to 1pm at Holy Trinity Church. £10 for one adult and two kids/ £5 individual.
- Name Me Lawand (2023). Saturday 25 November from 3.30pm to 5.30pm at The Deaf Academy. £5.
- It's A Wonderful Life (1946). Sunday 26 November from 3pm to 5.30pm at Holy Trinity Church. £5.
- Last Shop Standing (2013) with Q&A and vinyl DJ night. Tuesday 28 November from 7pm to 10pm at Exmouth Rugby Club. £7.
- Age of Stupid (2009) with director Q&A. Wednesday 29 November from 5pm at Exmouth Town Hall. Free but must book.
- Exeter Phoenix presents: The Best of Two Short Nights short films screening. Wednesday 29 November from 8pm to 9.30pm at Scott Cinemas, Exmouth. £8 for adults.
- Scrapper (2023) with recorded director Q&A. Thursday 30 November from 7pm at Scott Cinemas, Exmouth. £8 for adults.
The festival is being overseen by Exmouth-based media charity One Small Barking Dog and held in collaboration with Scott Cinemas, The Deaf Academy, Holy Trinity Church, Exeter Phoenix, The University of Exeter, Ocean, Exmouth Rugby Club and Exmouth Town Council.
Exmouth resident and co-founder of One Small Barking Dog Debbie Piper said: "Exmouth so deserves a great film festival, so this year we are starting small but ambitious with some great films and events on offer with our brilliant collaborators and venues.
"We have deliberately made it fully accessible and very affordable so we hope the community will come and help us make it really worthwhile."
