NCI Exmouth has appointed a new station manager.

Peter Oliver succeeds Ivor Jones, who will be taking up a new position as NCI Sector Manager for the Devon and Somerset stations.

Ivor wished Peter well in his new role and handed him his epaulettes at a recent meeting.

The volunteer coastwatch service is part of the National Coastwatch Institution, and its trained volunteers keep watch every day of the year.

A spokesperson said: "Exmouth NCI wishes Peter every success in his appointment as he pushes forward with a new outlook for the future of our national charity which numbers some 60 stations around the English coast, manned by 3,000 volunteer watchkeepers."
