Paddleboarders and kayakers now have a new base from which to enjoy the East Devon coastline.

New business, Budleigh Paddle Sports, will open this weekend and will remain open until the end of October.

The watersports venture was started by Moss Withers and Ian Dovey, who have decades of experience in the outdoor education industry. Moss runs his own outdoor coaching business and Ian runs Sea Kayak Exmouth

"We decided to start the business in Budleigh Salterton because there was nothing like it in the area," explained Moss.

"It's a lovely beach, a great spot for our activities. We hire to individuals, families, schools, businesses and local community groups."

Budleigh Paddle Sports offers stand up paddleboard and sit-on kayak hire, as well as guided tours of the Jurassic Coast.

The new watersports business can be found on Budleigh Salterton beach, next to the main Lime Kiln Car Park.

Moss and Ian have been pleased by the reception the new business has received, Moss said: "We've had a great reaction so far, we've had 600 likes on our Facebook page and the page has been viewed more than 34,000 times.

"Lots of businesses have got in touch asking for flyers and we've been inundated with calls from potential customers."

Prices start from £10 per hour for individual hire through to family paddling deals for £32. Bookings can be made through Facebook, over the phone, 07702888508 or by email, [email protected].
