Ongoing multi-agency emergency incident off Exmouth seafront

A large-scale emergency operation involving police, Exmouth Coastguard Rescue Teams and Air Ambulance is currently underway off the coast in Exmouth.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were notified just before 9am this morning, Saturday 27 June, following reports of a concern of welfare of a person on Exmouth seafront.

"Police along with Exmouth and Beer Coastguard Rescue Teams and Air Ambulance assisted at the scene.

"Police have currently sealed off the area as enquiries continue.

"Updates as we have them."

Exmouth Coastguard Rescue Team said: "Tasked this morning to a multi-agency incident off of the coast of Exmouth."

They also warned people: "Do not speculate about ongoing incidents on social media."
