End-of-life charity Hospiscare is offering to collect and recycle Christmas trees in the local area in return for a donation.

Its volunteers are collecting from the following postcodes: EX1; EX2; EX3; EX4; EX8; EX10; EX11 1; EX14 1; EX14 2; EX14 3; EX16 4; EX16 5; EX16 6.

The suggested donation is £10 per tree.

A spokesperson for Hospiscare said: "Do you have a real Christmas tree? If so, you can support your local adult hospice charity.

"In return for a donation, we will collect and recycle your Christmas tree.

"Your donation will help make a real difference to local patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

"£15 would pay for a cosy fleece blanket for a patient staying on the ward; £31 would cover the cost of a bed in the ward for one hour; £37 would pay for an hour's specialist bereavement care."

You can book your Christmas tree collection at www.charityxmastreecollection.com.

Registrations close at 11.59pm on Sunday 8 January.
