A new seven-mile sponsored circular walk along the Exe Estuary for Hospiscare is set to take place this summer on 8 July.

The local charity hopes to raise £45,000 from the event, which will begin and end at Darts Farm and go via Lympstone.

All money raised by walkers through sponsorship will help fund the hospice's specialist end-of-life care in the local community.

A Hospiscare spokesperson said: "This exciting route starts at Darts Farm where you'll enjoy a delicious gelato ice cream before taking in the breath-taking views at Cliff Field Lympstone and enjoying a strawberries-and-cream picnic.

"You'll also receive a well-earned break at the Puffing Billy for a refreshing Pimms and plenty of 'gram-worthy photo opportunities!

"The circular route is suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities, taking in beautiful views of the Exe Estuary – and of course four-legged family members are welcome too!"

South West-based ultra-fast broadband provider Jurassic Fibre is sponsoring the new event.
