The East Devon District Council Street Scene team have decided to shut the Mamhead Slipway floodgates in Exmouth.

This is due to take place tomorrow (Friday 7) in the afternoon as a precaution against pending 'severe' weather warnings.

High winds and tides are expected to hit over the weekend, with a yellow weather warning in place across the entire UK.

The council plans to reopen the floodgates again on Monday, 10 February, depending on what the weather situation is then.
