Exmouth residents are being told to 'stay away' from the remains of World War II sea defences uncovered by recent storms on Exmouth Beach.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) is working with Devon County Council to assess the debris found and make sure the area is safe for beach users.

A spokesperson for EDDC said: "We are investigating the remains of WWII defences on Exmouth beach which have been uncovered by recent storms.

"We are working with Devon County Council's archaeological team to assess the debris before it is removed. In the meantime please be aware of this structure and stay away from it."

Nub News has contacted EDDC for more information.
