The Met Office has issued fresh weather warnings for thunderstorms in the Exmouth area this weekend.

The yellow weather warnings suggest the worst of the weather will hit this evening (Friday, August 14) and on Sunday (August 16).

Here's what the Met Office says to expect:

-Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

-There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater or lightning strikes, possibly also by hail or strong winds.

-Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.

-There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

The likelihood of further thundery showers will increase this evening. There may be the odd clear spell but it will be largely cloudy.

Tonight will be cooler than recent nights but it could still be warm and muggy.

Saturday will start off cloudy with some thundery showers possible. It is forecast to remain overcast throughout the day. The humidity should be somewhat offset by light winds.

Sunday will remain muggy and there is an increased chance of thundery downpours for some.
