Police are investigating the murder of a man in Exmouth..

Officers were called to a house in Tennyson Way, Brixington, at about 9pm on Sunday, December 27, after the ambulance service reported that a man had been stabbed.

A 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 51-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody. Police have been granted extra time to detain her while a mental health assessment is carried out.

Scenes of crime officers are investigating the scene of the incident and detectives from the Major Crime Team are gathering evidence.

The dead man's next of kin have been informed, but formal identification has not yet taken place and his name is not being revealed at this stage.
