With Christmas events taking place across East Devon this weekend Nub News has put together a guide to the Christmas events taking place in Exmouth in the run up to the New Year.

On Friday, December 6, the town is expected to turn out in force for this year's Exmouth Christmas Fayre and lights switch on.

The family friendly event will feature live music, Exmouth primary schools' tree decorating, the ever-popular Lantern Parade by local primary school children and the Christmas tree lights switch- on and fireworks.

Exmouth's Christmas Fayre will take place on The Strand on Friday, December 6, between 3pm and 8pm.

On Sunday, December 8, Holy Trinity Church will be hosting the La La Choir, who will be performing a Christmas concert.

The La La Choir will be singing all your Christmas favourites and helping to raise funds for Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare.

A spokesperson for Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare said: "We are excited to welcome the La La Choir and guests for a festive evening of music and Christmas cheer for all the family raising funds for Hospiscare."

Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the Hospiscare shops in Exeter Road and The Parade as well as Bradley's Estate Agents in Rolle Street.

Tickets cost £7 per person for adults and £3.50 for under 16s.

Hundreds of people have already 'signed up' to take part in this year's Exmouth Christmas Day swim.

More than 230 people have already confirmed they will be there on the unofficial Facebook page for the event and 640 others have confirmed they are interested in going.

The Christmas Day Swim is a truly unorganised event which has become a firm tradition in Exmouth.

It is believed this unusual and generally ice cold affair began in 1970 and has taken place every year since.

It is thought to be one of the last true Christmas traditions in Exmouth and it attracts thousands of people every year.

If taking the plunge in the icy waters off Exmouth is not how you wish to spend Christmas morning why not watch it via the Exmouth Seafront Webcam.

If you are holding a Christmas event in Exmouth or the surrounding area which is not mentioned in this article why not post it on our What's On pages?
