Exeter Road Community Primary School has won an award for excellence in science and the teaching of outer space.
ESERO-UK, the UK Space Education and Resource Office, gave the school a Silver Space Education Quality Mark for incorporating space into the teaching curriculum.
Head teacher Paul Gosling said: "Science - particularly space science - is a subject our children love learning about.
"The 'wow' brought to the entire school community recently when we borrowed, for a short time, a collection of actual Moon rocks fired children's interest like never before.
"I'm delighted to say on behalf of everyone how pleased and proud we are to receive this award."
Science Leader Robin James commented: "I remember my own excitement as a child watching early the Apollo missions.
"Space science still really enthuses children and is sure to play a big part in their futures, not least in 2024 when they see the first woman take a step on the Moon."
ESERO-UK supports the space sector and the teaching of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects in schools.
Alex Brown, STEM Support Programme Manager at STEM Learning, said: "We are delighted to congratulate Exeter Road Community Primary School on receiving the Silver Space Education Quality Mark.
"Each school and college who receives the Space Education Mark has demonstrated a real and ongoing commitment to excellent STEM education in their school.
"Exeter Road Community Primary School is a great example of this."
ESERO-UK can provide funding to improve the teaching of STEM subjects in schools.
All schools across the UK are eligible to apply for the Space Education Quality Mark.
