Exmouth: BMW driver arrested near Budleigh after police notice 'strong smell of cannabis'

The driver of a BMW was arrested after testing positive for cannabis in the Knowle area near Budleigh Salterton at around 9pm on Sunday (26 February).

Police noticed a strong smell of cannabis after they stopped the car, and found that the driver was "impaired" in a roadside test.

A quantity of the class-B drug was seized and the driver taken into custody.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "This vehicle gained our attention.

"A stop check revealed a strong smell of cannabis and an impaired driver.

"Driver arrested and cannabis seized."
