Exmouth RNLI volunteers helped free a yacht with a fouled propeller on the River Exe on Monday (21 August).

At 5.21pm, the crew of Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat were tasked by HM Coastguard to assist the 28-foot yacht off Starcross pier.

The lifeboat crew launched at 5.33pm and were on scene with the vessel and its single occupant a short time later.

They assessed the situation and were able to free the yacht from the hazard and restore it to a safe condition.

The crew then returned to Exmouth Lifeboat Station and were back on service a short time later.
