The A376 Exmouth Road was closed between Clyst St George and the Toby Carvery near Lympstone on Tuesday evening (22 November) after a lorry carrying timber caught fire.

The fire was reported at around 6pm and road closures were put in place. The vehicle, which was near the Toby Carvery, was recovered at around 9.15pm.

There were no reported injuries.

The fire service put out the blaze, which involved a tractor unit and part of the load of timber, with two fire engines and a water carrier.

Police were also at the scene.
