Exmouth artist Julia Gash has donated unique art prints to Ukrainian refugees staying in the local area.

She created the print in March this year. It shows a blue-and-yellow stylised map of Ukraine, featuring drawings of the Monument of Independence in Kyiv, sunflowers (the country's national flower), and a tractor pulling a tank.

Local resident Marcia Fletcher, who is also a member of the Kingston Road Community Group with Julia, donated four picture frames for the prints.

Marcia has since delivered three framed prints to families hosting refugees and one to Lympstone C of E Primary School where two Ukrainian children are currently going to school.

Marcia said: "It was hoped that the prints would offer a familiar reminder of their homeland.

"The prints were well received by both Leo and Olha who pointed to places on the map where they had lived and features they recognised.

"The two children, Kateryna and Ruslan, immediately recognised the map and pointed to where they had lived.

"Their print will be hung in their school room so that the other pupils can see the map and understand more about their homeland."

You can purchase a print yourself online here, with proceeds going to the people of Ukraine via the not-for-profit organisation Ukrainian Events in London.
