WATCH: Exmouth man pays tribute to his carers with 'tear jerker' video message

An Exmouth man being cared for by Exmouth Circle Of Care has put together a tear jerking video to pay tribute his 'heroes' who regularly go the 'extra mile to help'.

Steve, who moved to Exmouth from Plymouth two years ago, says he has been blown away by the care provided by Exmouth Circle Of Care, who provide help to people in the their own homes.

The video, created by Steve this week, includes pictures of his carers wearing full PPE but still managing to appear friendly, accompanied by heart-warming messages of thanks to his carers and the NHS in general.

Nub News spoke with Steve to find out why he created the video, he said: "We put the video together because the Circle Of Care team goes the extra mile to help us. They have to risk their lives to save others.

"Every care company has been on the frontline since this all started. Many carers have children, so working in this environment is that much more difficult for them.

"They have gone to the shop for me, taken me out to get some fresh air and if I need something I know they are there to help.

"They are putting themselves at risk to help others, I think they are heroes. Before the coronavirus started carers were described by the Government as 'unskilled workers' and now they are on the frontline of the fight against this horrible disease.

"They've done a lot for me and I hope people who see our video realise just how hard they work to keep us and everyone else safe."

Nub News also contacted Circle of Care to find out what staff there thought of Steve's video.

Lucy said: "When I first watched the video I was sat in tears, very emotional, so very proud of each and every carer in our team and glad to be supporting people in our community to stay home and stay well."

Sharon said: "I opened it up and became really emotional, immensely proud of the work we do, the carers have been amazing through all of this showing their true guts and care. I salute each and every one of you."

Fiona said: "Amazing! It made me feel choked up and proud to do what I do, made the job worth it. And to know that a client has gone to that effort to get a video put together, makes me so happy that he think of us in this way."

Gemma said: "Emotional and proud, the video makes you realise what a great job everyone is doing and how proud they should all be."

Shirley said: "I was quite taken back when the video appeared on my screen, the music was very appropriate and touching. A real tear jerker, it really made me feel that the work I do is appreciated to the extent that someone had cared enough and taken the time to do this for us."

Ruth said: "I'm proud to say this is my family's company, this video literally made me cry!"

Luci said: "I love my job and this made me very emotional. I wouldn't change what I do and no crisis will stop people who care naturally. We risk our families everyday to look after everyone else's.

"Circle of care are the greatest bunch of ladies and gents and it's not a business, it's a big family. I'm so proud of everyone I work with. Stay safe and look after yourself."
