Residents' parking schemes in Exmouth will go live on 14 August, representatives for the town at Devon County Council have confirmed.

The schemes were approved for the Colonies, St Andrews Road and central Albion Hill areas in December.

Cllrs Jeff Trail and Richard Scott (Conservative, Exmouth) said the process will begin on 10 July, with letters being sent to residents affected and posts being put up.

"Bagged-over" signs will start to be installed on 1 August, with lines being painted on 7 August before the schemes go live on 14 August.

The councillors thanked the public for "your patience in this matter."

The new restrictions will be reviewed by Devon County Council in December.
