Woman, 89, missing after Exeter house fire

An 89-year-old woman is still unaccounted for after a serious fire at her home in Beacon Heath, Exeter on 5 April.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 1.05am on Monday.

The fire burned throughout the night, and the property was left "100% damaged by fire and smoke with significant structural collapse" according to Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue.

Due to the fire damage, the building cannot be entered at this time.

Devon & Cornwall Police said: "An 89-year-old female resident remains unaccounted for and a police cordon remains in place.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident."
