Exmouth review: Postcards Cafe | Opinion

By Will Goddard

The Strand is bustling with independent cafés, restaurants and bars - and it's an absolute pleasure to see another local business join their ranks.

Postcards Cafe opened on the Strand not two months ago in February, and is run by a lovely married couple called Rich Hook and Poppy Bragg.

What makes Postcards so interesting is that the well-travelled pair (who have each been to more than 30 countries) are trying to recreate flavours they encountered on their travels.

Move over boring café fare - there's American pancakes, Indian street food, and Australian lamington sponge cakes on the menu.

I was starving hungry when I went down, and tucked into the pancakes with a flat white coffee on the side. Not only were they delicious, but the presentation, crockery, and atmosphere were homely and relaxing and I left with a smile on my face.

Postcards Cafe can be found at 50 The Strand between Franklins and Spoken, and here on Google Maps.
