Police were alerted to a public disturbance in Exmouth Town Centre on Saturday 14.

Inspector Antonia Weeks said: "Last Saturday afternoon police were called to a disturbance outside the Co-op in the Magnolia Centre in Exmouth.

"One man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly in a public place and three others were warned for their behaviour under the Public Spaces Protection Order."

This order prohibits harassing or intimidating behaviour and gives police and other authorised officers the power to request the surrender of alcohol or intoxicating substances.

Failure to comply is an offence.
