Exmouth has been ranked in the top 20 Best Travel Destinations in the UK for Autumn.

The list put together by travel research company HomeToGo ranks Exmouth at number thirteen, just behind Cromer and just ahead of Newquay.

The list was devised using five different data points, including: the price of accommodation, the weather in October, good value family friendly activities and restaurants.

A spokesperson for research company HomeToGo said: "The half-term break is approaching on October 21st - just one week before the Brexit vote. Amongst some uncertainty for international travel, it's a perfect time to enjoy a 'staycation' right here in the UK.

"HomeToGo has identified the 20 Best Destinations in the UK for Autumn. The study compares the following for each spot: the number of family-friendly attractions and restaurants, the local weather forecast and the price of accommodation.

"Exmouth was number thirteen on our list and scored particularly highly for having affordable accommodation and good weather. Salcombe came in at spot number nineteen."
